Spring Steel Katana with Red Lacquered Hardwood Saya - Black & Red Tsuka, Bronze Tsuba

The tsuka is wrapped in black-and-red tsuka-ito over a red samegawa base. The alternating diamond pattern typical of koshirae-style wrapping is clearly visible in the cord work, with red peeking through the black crossings to carry the color story from handle down to saya.
