The scabbard is also beautiful, with plum blossoms, a symbol of the new spring, and beloved in Chinese and Japanese culture. I bought a black sword bag, which also came quickly. It has the kanji for "Dao" or "Way" and gives my new sword the protection and respect that it deserves. For now, the sword is a bit heavy but this serves as motivation for me to practice and improve. Excellent Japanese swords. Only one issue & that is the swords fit too tightly in their scabbards. A little hand finishing with a hobby knife at the mouth of the scabbards did the trick. The same was true for the Tanto’s scabbard I purchased earlier. Overall a fine set of swords.

Bought this sword for my bfs birthday and he absolutely loved it! The details are amazing and just like the photo. It's very sturdy and doesn't feel like it's cheaply made. It was packed carefully and had a protective cover on the blade to preserve it during transit. I'd def recommend this site again as it was cheaper than a lot of other places I searched and the shipping is quick once the order is processed (however that did take a bit of time). I can't really speak to the quality of the sword in terms of cutting or if you're a real collector that wants high quality blades but I can say that for a functional show piece the katana is beautiful.
