I have been learning the tai chi sword for about one year and had been using a telescopic sword for practice. I am very happy with my new handmade, stainless steel Chinese tai chi sword with brown scabbard. The sword arrived quickly, in about a week after placing my ordering. My Sifu examined it. The handle was a touch loose; he tightened it for me. Otherwise, he said that it was a good sword and right for me. The calligraphy on the sword is beautiful and authentic. The scabbard is also beautiful, with plum blossoms, a symbol of the new spring, and beloved in Chinese and Japanese culture. I bought a black sword bag, which also came quickly. It has the kanji for "Dao" or "Way" and gives my new sword the protection and respect that it deserves. For now, the sword is a bit heavy but this serves as motivation for me to practice and improve. Excellent Japanese swords. Only one issue & that is the swords fit too tightly in their scabbards. A little hand finishing with a hobby knife at the mouth of the scabbards did the trick. The same was true for the Tanto’s scabbard I purchased earlier. Overall a fine set of swords.

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. For my first sword buying experience, I regret ordering online but I’m glad I ordered thru TrueKatana. As someone who never owned a sword, my initial impressions were blown away upon delivery. My only issue with the handle itself is that the Tsuba & Habaki don’t match the picture. The 4stars in my review are from the fact TrueKatana was also EXTREMELY communicative & responded to my emails swiftly during the shipping process. All in all, I’d buy again!
