We received the katana and the shipping labels themselves states that this was a “decorative iron sword,” worth “$89.”
We were disappointed even though we knew for less than $200, we’d be most likely getting a decorative katana, I just though the company would be more honest in their item description.
Next time, I’ll find a legit shop for purchasing a higher-end katana.
Hubs is satisfied with it however, and it is a solid decoration.

I ordered this blade (blue katana with white branches on the sides with similar koshirae) about two weeks before Christmas as a present for my wife. She's not a student of JSA or kendo so the functionality of this sword is unimportant, as it is a display piece, but I CANNOT stress it enough that it is not a sword to wield or use to cut targets. It will not hold up. Its not very sharp either, again not important for the reason I purchased it.
In terms of aesthetics it is a gorgeous piece, beautiful laquered saya, the etching and coloring on the blade are outstanding, and the tsukamaki is very tight and doesn't move at all. My wife has seen my collection of swords for years and is not impressed with a sword in general but when I pulled this one out of the bag she gasped. (Proud of that!)
Overall if you want a weapon do not buy this sword. If you want to decorate your home with the Japanese theme and make your wife exceptionally happy this is your sword. The packaging was adequate but definitely could use a lot of improvement and the tracking info was way too slow. The sword was here before it got updated. Thats the two reasons for 4 of 5 stars.

The blades are amazing, but like my past purchases from here I am not a fan of the materials used in the handles. The stand is great and I have no complaints about it, or the blades. For display purposes, the material in the handles is a huge disappointment. These rest is good quality physically and esthetically. I would pay extra for a better quality handle if it was offered.
