I received my aluminum practice sword in 13 days. Very light and and blunt blade makes the swoosh sound. It is about what I expected.

The Tanto arrived in less than a week a was carefully packaged. As far as appearances go the item is exactly as pictured. The blue hue is brilliant and the blade is sharp. I will definitely be purchasing from True Katana again.

The Good: this iaito has a nice simple aesthetic. The blade and handle are well balanced and it is sufficient for beginner Iaido training.
The Bad: at this price point there are some compromises that have been made that I would like to see changed on a newer model. They are as follows.
1. The plastic saya is disappointing. Plastic shavings get stuck to the blade, there’s a lot of rattle, and even a cheap wooden saya would have been much preferred to plastic.
2. The edge of the iaito is kind of fat. This might be a good thing for beginners worried about stabbing themselves (iaito can still be sharp on the tip, even sharp enough to cut flesh or stab into something) but a thinner and more refined edge would have been better.
3. The handle wrapping is a little loose, but for the price that is expected.
Despite all these negatives the sword definitely allows me to train in a way that’s better than a bokken for Iaido and for that I would recommend it for a tight budget iaidoka looking for their first training iaito.

True katana has been a fabulous company for me personally. I can buy replicas of real samurai swords that are made by a real Smith, but not as real as the authentic older ones. I love collecting swords and these are great and true katana has a great team, and I received the swords and less than two weeks, if I was to buy sword, it would From true katana! I ordered the glaive and as for the weapon itself, I don't have any complaints. It's tall and has some real heft to it and it was sharp enough for me to make a few practice cuts in the styrofoam box it came in. Now my only complaint would have to do with the packaging. I understand "packing with care" but putting it in styrofoam packaging and completely covering it with packing tape was too much. Styrofoam got everything and was somehow cut up inside getting tiny pieces on the glaive and scabbard, and overall was just a mess to clean up, and the packing tape was a hassle to cut through when you don't have a box cutter or durable scissors.

The sword arrived a little later than I had liked. To be fair however, I ordered it during the holidays, so given that, the shipping was decently quick. The sword itself was in good shape. No rattling, the fittings were tight. The blade had a few blemishes near the point, but that isn't too big of a deal. The blade isn't as sharp as I was hoping, but still decently sharp, so I can't complain. Overall, good experience and good sword for the price range. I'm happy with the purchase.
