I was waiting for the review until I have opportunity to do some test cutting with the saber.
I am from Czech Republic and the sword arrived in less than 2 weeks after placing the order (I was a little worried when Fedex delivery started in Malaysia but...).
When the saber arrived I was impressed how well it was done. There was no issue with the quality of steel nor fittings. It looked as it was supposed to and the quality of fittings is very good. The scabbard is a little darker than on the picture but it is very nice looking wood. At the beginning the sword fitted very tightly in the scabbard (almost like a katana with a habaki) but after couple outs and ins it loosened. But I was expecting it and it was told to me by TrueKatana in the inquiry email I sent before.
Sword is sharp but could be a little sharper. I did some test cutting (water bottles and tiny branches) and it worked well but ... could be better if sharper. I did some training with it (some Chinese martial arts sequences) and handling was pretty good. Point of balance could be a little closer to the guard but for a sabre it is expected to be a little "head heavy" (even if it is only 0.9kg in weight without the scabbard, it feels heavier).
My tip for TrueKatana: You could improve description on the website. Add more precise information about weight and point of balance. Drop that it is oxtail, since it is not (oxtail sabers widen from the guard towards the end of the dao). Include type of steel (if it is possible) since "damascus" doesn't show hardness etc. But I understand that current title can improve sales.
Overall I am very happy with my new sabre and I think it has a very good quality to price ratio and I can recommend it to others.
