The two mekugi (pegs) in the handle are smooth and the emblem in the wood is laser-engraved. The blade fits into the saya tightly with no rattling. It arrived with the 1045 steel blade greased and protected in plastic wrap—a sign of care on behalf of TrueKatana.
Overall, my first impressions are that it is a hefty, sharp, and balanced sword, fit to do some actual cutting. I cannot wait to test it out! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
