First, I was surprised at how fast it came, less than a week. The wood is rich in color, very smooth, excellent quality. The steel is a little thicker than some of my katanas, but its excellent steel, forged very well with an obvious harmon, very sharp. An excellent wakizashi, especially at this price point.

It is a nice waskizashi, but the blade looked soaked in oil/wet (could have been due to temperature change from shipping). There is some mild chipping on the scabbard where the sword slides in, and I'm rather underwhelmed with my purchase. I would like to return it, but the process sounds expensive and complicated (I am in the US).

The only problem is that the saya (scabbard) is silver and not white as shown in the ad, however, I will keep it rather than return it and have to wait for a replacement. that is why I am rating it 4 stars, otherwise it would be 5 stars.
